How this list works

How we rank: futures-only firms first (futures are the only market listed, or the firm trades through futures platforms with no CFD platform), then the other firms that list futures; within each group by Transparency Index score, highest first; on equal scores, non-provisional scores come before provisional ones, then the lowest starting price, then A–Z. We earn a commission if you buy through a link marked Ad; it never changes a firm's score or rank.

The futures prop firms with the highest Transparency Index scores in our data are MILTRADERS, PropEd Capital and Topstep, all of them futures-only firms. Below we compare all 45 futures-only firms, then 28 other firms that list futures, on how they charge, activation fees, drawdown type, platforms and whether US residents are accepted.

Every value has a source you can open. Where a firm's site does not state a value, the table says "Not stated" rather than guess. Prices are the lowest list price in US dollars for any account the firm sells, not a discount-code price.

How to choose a futures prop firm

Monthly subscription or one-time fee

Some futures firms bill the evaluation every month until you pass or cancel; others charge once per account. A monthly price can look cheaper but repeats each month you have not passed, so compare the total over the time you expect to need. Check whether resets are extra and whether a failed account is reset at renewal.

Activation fees

Some firms charge a fee after you pass to open the funded account, once or every month. Others include it in the price or charge none. Add it to the evaluation price when you compare costs.

Trailing, end-of-day or static drawdown

A trailing drawdown rises with your highest balance; intraday trailing can move during a trade, end-of-day trailing only at the close. A static drawdown stays fixed. Trailing limits are easier to breach after a run of profits, so check how and when the limit moves and whether it stops at the starting balance.

Platforms and data

Futures firms usually connect through platforms such as NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic-based platforms, Quantower or TradingView. Check that your platform is supported and whether real-time data or platform licences cost extra.

Who can join

Some futures firms accept US residents and some do not. Check the firm's terms for your country before you pay.

What is the difference between trailing and end-of-day drawdown?

A trailing maximum drawdown moves up as your account reaches new highs, so the level you must stay above rises with your profits. An intraday trailing limit follows your highest balance or equity during the day; an end-of-day trailing limit only moves when the day closes. A static drawdown stays at a fixed level. Some firms stop trailing once the limit reaches the starting balance. The exact rules differ by firm and plan.
