Overview

Alpha Futures is a futures prop firm. Its Terms and Conditions name the operator as Alpha Futures Limited, incorporated in England and Wales (company number 15655643), with its principal place of business in Harpenden. Its How It Works page describes it as "a UK based futures prop firm and part of the Alpha Group".

It sells three one-step evaluations — Zero, Standard and Advanced — and a Direct account that starts on a Qualified Account without an evaluation. The evaluations are paid as a monthly subscription; Direct is a one-time fee. All accounts are simulated: the Terms say any trading "is not real but simulated". Every plan uses an end-of-day trailing Maximum Loss Limit that stops trailing at the starting balance. The help centre lists a 90% profit split on all four account types.

Rules differ a lot between plans, and between the evaluation and the Qualified stage: consistency rules, the Daily Loss Guard, news windows and withdrawal caps all change. We set them out plan by plan below, using the help-centre articles as our main source.

Everything in this review comes from Alpha Futures' own web pages, saved on 7–9 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the firm's site before you buy.

Key highlights

Programmes and prices

Zero, Standard and Advanced evaluations rebill every month until you pass, and the subscription ends once you pass. Qualified Traders do not pay a monthly subscription. If an evaluation fails, the rebill gives you a fresh account at the original starting balance; you can cancel in the Billing section of the dashboard. The How It Works page describes the Zero prices as "full prices, no discount".

Activation and reset fees

  • Zero accounts have no activation fee. Standard lists "No Activation Fee".
  • The Activation Fee article still mentions a one-time $149 fee per Advanced Qualified Account, but says accounts purchased after the 8 July 2026 announcement no longer require activation fees.
  • Direct has no separate activation fee.
  • Evaluation resets cost $79, $119 and $249 on Zero 25K/50K/100K; $109, $199 and $289 on Standard 50K/100K/150K; and $189, $319 and $449 on Advanced 50K/100K/150K. A reset does not change your monthly rebill date.
  • A paid Qualified Reset is offered on Zero and Standard Qualified Accounts only: up to 2 times on one account that has never reached a payout request, within 7 days of a breach. Prices run from $399 (Zero 25K) to $999 (Standard 150K).

Trading rules by programme

Maximum Loss Limit (all plans)

The Maximum Loss Limit (MLL) is end-of-day trailing on all accounts, calculated from the account balance high at the end of each trading day. It stops trailing once it reaches the starting balance. A breach is checked on floating equity as well as closed balance, and the account is liquidated. On the evaluations, hitting the MLL is the only way to fail. The Zero and Standard pages say the MLL does not move after a payout.

Daily close

The Terms say all trades must be closed before 4:20pm ET each day on evaluation and Qualified accounts; open positions are closed automatically if you forget, so you cannot hold positions overnight or over the weekend.

Consistency rule

PlanEvaluationQualified Account
ZeroNone40%
Standard50%40%
Advanced40%None
DirectNo evaluation20%

On the evaluations, no single day's profit may exceed the percentage of your net profit, and you do not pass until the rule is satisfied. On Qualified Accounts the rule is measured on profit since the last withdrawal request; breaking it does not breach the account, but you cannot request a withdrawal until it is satisfied. The Terms say Standard and Advanced evaluations take at least 2 and 3 trading days because of these rules, while a Zero evaluation may be passed in a single day. The Terms also say there are no time limits on the evaluations.

Daily Loss Guard

The Daily Loss Guard is a soft breach: hitting it locks the account until the next trading day (6PM ET) rather than closing it. On Zero accounts it is 2% of the starting balance, including on the evaluation. Advanced has no Daily Loss Guard on the evaluation or the Qualified Account. Standard has none on the evaluation. It counts realised and unrealised P&L, including simulated commissions and fees.

Scaling Plan (contract limits)

Zero and Standard Qualified Accounts have a Scaling Plan that limits position size until profit builds up; there is none on Advanced. For example, a Standard 50K Qualified Account starts at 2 minis / 20 micros below $1,500 profit and reaches 5 minis / 50 micros from $2,000 profit. The Zero overview lists no Scaling Rule for the 25K size. Direct Qualified Accounts have no Scaling Plan.

Restrictions and prohibited strategies

News trading

There are no news trading restrictions on any evaluation account, or on Advanced Qualified Accounts. On Direct, Standard and Zero Qualified Accounts you may hold positions through news, but no orders may be executed from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after high-impact events (red-folder events on the ForexFactory calendar). A first violation is a warning, with profits on the trade voided and the payout denied; later violations breach the account.

Automation and prohibited practices (all accounts)

  • AI, bots and other automated trading are prohibited on all account types; semi-automated signals are allowed only if you place, monitor and manage the trade yourself.
  • The firm says it is not interested in strategies taking 100 or more trades per day, automated or not.
  • "Tick or micro scalping" (trades under 10 ticks and under 2 minutes) is prohibited when it is a clear pattern in your profit; there is no minimum holding time.
  • Also prohibited: an "all or nothing" approach using the daily limit as a stop loss, order book spamming, account rolling or stacking, hedging across accounts or within one account (for example long NQ and short MNQ), trading for fills in gapped or illiquid markets, and group trading.
  • A VPS is allowed; a VPN used to hide or change your IP address is not.
  • Breaches can lead to termination and voided profits, and passed evaluations are subject to review.

Copy trading

The Terms say the only copy trading allowed is from your own external account to your Alpha Futures Account, and copying other analysts' trades can lead to termination. The AlphaTrader app page, however, describes mirroring trades from one lead account to selected follower accounts. The platforms page lists a built-in trade copier for both AlphaTrader and WealthCharts. None of the pages we saved reconciles the narrower wording in the Terms with these tools; the help centre has a separate Copy Trading article, so check it before copying between accounts.

Payouts and scaling

Zero, Standard and Advanced Qualified Accounts

You can request a payout up to 4 times a month, after every 5 winning trading days of $200 or more; the days do not need to be consecutive. Each request can be up to 50% of the profit in the account, up to the withdrawal limit, and the trader receives 90% of the amount requested.

Direct Qualified Accounts

Direct has no winning-day requirement. Instead you must reach the Withdrawal Profit Target and satisfy the 20% consistency rule before each request. The target resets after each withdrawal, and leftover profit does not carry over.

Withdrawal limits per request

PlanMinimumMaximum by size
Zero$20025K $1,000 · 50K $1,500 · 100K $2,500
Standard$50050K $3,000 · 100K $4,000 · 150K $5,000
Advanced$1,000$15,000 on all sizes
Direct$50025K $1,000 · 50K $2,000 · 100K $2,500 · 150K $3,000

The separate Maximum Withdrawal Request article gives $1,500 for a 50K Direct account; we used the $2,000 shown in the payout policy, the Direct overview and the home page pricing card.

Payout timing

A payout update on the firm's blog says that once a standard payout is approved it is paid in five business days or less, and that the firm is working towards restoring same-day payouts. The home page still says you can receive your performance fee "the same day". We used the more recent payout update. The same update says all active Premium Accounts have been refunded and pending Premium payouts are being paid in batches on a separate schedule.

Live and Alpha Prime

The firm says it may call selected traders to trade live capital, for example after 5 performance fees on a single Qualified Account. When that happens all Qualified Accounts are closed. Traders then choose the Alpha Futures Live Program (80% profit split, daily uncapped withdrawals) or the Alpha Prime Program (60% profit split plus a 12-month salary funded from 50% of existing Qualified sim profit, capped at $75,000). The page says traders who decline the live programmes "will sacrifice all relations with any branch of the Alpha Group". The How It Works page gives a different trigger for review: +$40,000 in payable balance or 5 payout cycles.

Platforms and markets

The firm lists AlphaTrader, TradingView (through Plus500 connectivity), WealthCharts, Quantower and DeepChart. AlphaTrader is its in-house platform, with an app for iOS and Android. TradingView connectivity is chosen at checkout. For Quantower, the platform choice is locked at purchase.

The Terms limit tradeable assets to CME Group products. The Market page groups them as equity and index, currency, commodities and agricultural, metals, financial interest rate and crypto futures, including micro contracts such as /MES, /MNQ and Micro Gold.

Company and terms

  • Operator: Alpha Futures Limited, company number 15655643, registered office in Harpenden, England. The Terms are governed by English law.
  • The Terms describe the accounts as "fully simulated accounts utilising real market quotes from liquidity providers". They also say the firm may use Qualified traders' trading data for its own purposes, including proprietary trading.
  • You must be over 18.
  • The Terms cap each user at 5 Qualified Accounts in total (3 for Advanced, and 3 for anyone with an active Standard or Advanced Qualified account) and allow one individual per household. The Direct page says you can run up to 5 Direct accounts per size tier, which does not match the Terms' overall cap of 5.
  • The firm's country guides say it publishes a restricted-country list, name Cuba, Jamaica and Malaysia as on it, and say you cannot trade while visiting a restricted country.
  • Under the Terms, the 14-day cooling-off right for consumers is waived when you place your first virtual trade.
  • Support hours are listed as Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm (GMT).

The firm's marketing figures — "$70M Performance Fees Paid" and "175,000+ Qualified Analysts" — are its own claims; the home page says the fees were awarded inside its simulated trading environment.

Who it suits

Based on the firm's published rules, Alpha Futures fits discretionary futures traders who trade CME products by hand. Zero has the lowest monthly price and no consistency rule on the evaluation, but has low withdrawal caps and a Daily Loss Guard. Advanced has the highest withdrawal cap, no Daily Loss Guard, no consistency rule on the Qualified Account, no news restrictions and no scaling plan. Direct suits traders who want to skip the evaluation and pay once.

It does not suit traders who rely on bots or fully automated systems, or strategies with 100 or more trades a day. Traders who want to hold overnight should note the 4:20pm ET daily close. News traders should note the 2-minute order window on Zero, Standard and Direct Qualified Accounts.

MyPropGenius Rating

MyPropGenius Rating: 2.9/5 — its Transparency Index score of 59/100 ÷ 20, rounded down

The rating measures how openly Alpha Futures discloses its rules, pricing, payouts and ownership (our Transparency Index methodology). It does not measure how likely you are to pass or be paid.

Is Alpha Futures legit?

Entity, company number, England and Wales jurisdiction, simulated-only trading and 'not a broker' are all stated. The About page names the founder and co-founder with a team list; UK Companies House lists both as active directors of Alpha Futures Limited. A dedicated Return Policy page says all sales are final with no refunds, but the T&C give a 14-day cooling-off right (waived on the first virtual trade). The firm's leaderboard lists named traders with payout amounts (lifetime and weekly tabs) and the homepage claims $70M in performance fees paid, but none of the records we saw carries a date, so we could not check how recent they are. Operating history runs from April 2024.

Its Transparency Index score is 59/100 (Mixed). We do not verify payouts or test accounts; this is what the firm’s own pages show.

Our verdict

Alpha Futures offers simulated one-step futures evaluations on three plans plus a one-time-fee Direct account, all with a 90% split and an end-of-day trailing loss limit. The rules change sharply between plans and between the evaluation and Qualified stages, so read the help-centre article for the plan you pick. Automated trading is banned, and payouts are currently paid within five business days of approval rather than the same day.
