Privacy policy
MyPropGenius is operated by VKDP LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 16197794). VKDP LTD is the data controller for personal information collected through mypropgenius.com.
This policy explains what personal information MyPropGenius ("we", "us") collects when you use mypropgenius.com, why, who processes it for us, and your rights. It is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and we handle personal information in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
1. Information We Collect
- Quiz and AI finder answers — the options you choose and, if you use it, the optional description you type (see section 3).
- Email address — if you subscribe to updates or click “Watch” on a review, together with the date, the page you subscribed from and the firms you chose to watch. We use it to send you the weekly summary of firm changes and, for firms you watch, an email when we record a change to them (at most one a day). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop watching one firm without unsubscribing from everything.
- Transparency Index challenges — if you submit one: the firm, your evidence, your email address, your name (optional), whether you are affiliated with the firm, the page you sent it from, and technical details of the request (IP address and browser type) to help us prevent abuse.
- Emails you send us — the address and content of any email you send to us.
- Usage data — pages visited and similar analytics, collected through Google Analytics (see section 5).
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to show you matching prop firms, to send the updates you subscribed to, to review score challenges and corrections, to reply to you, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information.
3. The Quiz and AI Finder
When you use the quiz on our homepage or at /quiz/, your answers are sent to our matching service, which runs on Amazon Web Services in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden). If you type a description of your trading, that text is also sent to Anthropic, PBC (United States), whose Claude AI model turns it into requirements (for example markets, platform and budget) and writes short summaries of matching firms from our own firm data. Anthropic processes the text under its own terms and privacy policy, which you can read at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
We do not ask for your name or email in the quiz, and we do not save your answers or your description in a database. Our servers keep technical logs (for example the time taken and the number of results), not the text you typed. Please do not include personal details in the description box. If the AI service is unavailable, the quiz still works using rules only.
4. Cookies
Analytics cookies (only with your consent). We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links are used. It is not loaded, and sets no cookies, until you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_5SVNDBX2GN, which last up to two years. If you reject, it is not loaded. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies.
Strictly necessary storage (no consent needed). We store your cookie choice itself (mpg_consent, 12 months) so we don't ask again on every page. The site may also keep small amounts of data in your browser, such as a cached firm list, so pages load faster; this is never used to track you.
5. Service Providers
We use these providers to run the site; each processes data on our behalf or under its own terms:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, our APIs and data storage (EU, Stockholm region, and a global content delivery network).
- Anthropic — the AI model used by the quiz and AI finder (section 3).
- Resend — sending the email updates you subscribe to.
- Google Analytics — site usage statistics.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, this is done under the safeguards those providers offer for such transfers.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep subscriber email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and challenge submissions for as long as we need them to review and record changes to scores. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent (for example by unsubscribing). To exercise these rights, email hello@mypropgenius.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
