Overview

Imperial Trader Funding sells evaluation accounts for trading US stocks and options, with CME futures available as well. Its accounts page lists three account types: Elite, a one-step evaluation; Foundation, a two-step evaluation; and Instant, which is funded from day one without an evaluation. Each is a one-time payment. On the accounts page, normal prices run from $175 (Foundation $25K) to $3,841 (Instant $500K); the help centre lists the same Foundation account at $245.

The firm describes a three-stage path: an evaluation, then a Sim-Funded account that pays real cash, then a Live Funded account. Its disclosures say traders are trading in a simulation funding environment, not live funded accounts, before any move to live capital. In the Sim-Funded stage the help centre sets a 90% split for Elite and Foundation; Instant accounts are 80%. The homepage, however, shows an 80% profit split, including 80% profit sharing in the Sim Funded stage, and the site FAQ says funded traders get an 80/20 split. Live splits are agreed individually.

This review uses only the firm's own website and its help centre. The website's FAQ page often disagrees with the help centre and the accounts page: it still describes Starter, Professional, 2-Step Static and Direct Funding accounts, monthly membership fees and an 80/20 split. Where they differ, we use the accounts page for prices and the help centre for rules, and point out the main conflicts.

Everything in this review comes from Imperial Trader Funding's own web pages, saved on 28 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the firm's site before you buy.

Key highlights

Pros

  • US stocks and options, with CME futures available on every account type
  • One-time fees, with each size's price, target, drawdown and reset fee on the accounts page
  • Foundation offers a static drawdown that does not trail
  • The help centre allows trading through all major news events
  • Help-centre articles say the evaluation fee is refunded later (one at the first payout, another at the first Live payout), though the Terms say there are no refunds

Cons

  • On the pages we read, the site FAQ contradicts the help centre on fees, splits, platforms, account limits and holding rules
  • Evaluations must be passed within 45 trading days
  • Sim-Funded withdrawals are capped and only part of the profit above the threshold can be taken
  • The help centre says payouts are batched weekly on Fridays and the capital-gains tax amount is deducted
  • No company registration number or restricted-country list on the pages we read
  • Live split is not published; it is set in an individual agreement

Programmes and prices

When we checked, each card on the accounts page showed a struck-through price next to a lower price with a coupon code; the table shows the struck-through (normal) prices. A banner also said there was no consistency rule for October.

The $1M Elite includes futures through Rithmic, and the accounts page says this cannot be removed. Elite and Foundation cards say the fee is refunded on funding. The help centre also lists one-time activation fees for Elite accounts, from $200 for $25K to $400 for $1M, which are non-refundable. The same help-centre table lists Foundation prices that do not match the accounts page (for example $245 for 25k), so we do not repeat its Foundation figures.

A failed evaluation can be reset; resets are only for failed evaluations, not Sim-Funded or Live accounts. The site FAQ describes an optional paid add-on, Funded Insurance, which restores the balance after a single losing trade that would fail a Sim-Funded or funded account. The FAQ says it must be renewed each month.

Trading rules by account type

Help-centre rules for evaluations

  • Evaluations must be passed within 45 trading days; weekends and market holidays do not count.
  • There is no inactivity rule, but at least three qualifying trading days are needed to pass.
  • The help centre sets a 33% daily consistency rule for the evaluation and Sim-Funded stages: no single day's net profit can be more than 33% of total profit, and the rule is inactive on Live accounts.

The accounts page shows no consistency row on Foundation cards and lists "33%" and "None" on Elite cards, and the help centre's futures article gives 40% in the evaluation and none once funded.

Elite (one step)

Elite uses an end-of-day drawdown and the accounts page shows no daily loss limit. The help centre's $50K Elite example gives a 10% target ($5,000) and a 7% end-of-day drawdown below the peak end-of-day equity, with no soft breach; the accounts page shows $5,500 for the same size. The $1M Elite has a 15% target ($150,000) and a $50,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown that stops trailing at $1,010,000. Its funded stage must reach a payout within 45 days, has a 5% position limit and caps Sim-Funded withdrawals at $30,000 in total.

Foundation (two steps)

Foundation has two targets and a static drawdown. For $50K the help centre gives a 10% Step 1 target, a 7% Step 2 target, an 8% static floor fixed at $46,000 and a 4% ($2,000) daily loss limit that fails the account if breached. The accounts page shows the daily loss limit as 50% on every Foundation size.

Instant (no evaluation)

Instant accounts go straight into a Sim-Funded account. They have a 15% daily consistency cap, a 5% end-of-day trailing maximum drawdown and payouts every six valid trading days. 12% of the starting balance must be made before the first payout, then a further 5% before each later payout. Sim-Funded payouts are capped at $1,000 (25k), $2,000 (50k) and $3,000 (100k). The $500K Instant has a $17,000 drawdown, an $8,500 daily loss limit, a 7% threshold and a $15,000 Sim-Funded cap. A trader who fails an Instant account or does not move to Live must wait 180 days before buying any new account.

Restrictions and prohibited strategies

  • Position size: in the Sim-Funded stage, open positions may use at most 10% of the account's buying power.
  • On Live accounts, positions held overnight must be cut to 5% of buying power.
  • Holding: the help centre allows holding through weekends, with a 45-day maximum per position and one options roll.
  • The site FAQ says futures may not be held overnight or over the weekend; the help centre's futures article instead says the 5% usage rule applies when futures are held into the next session.
  • News: the help centre allows trading through major news, including FOMC, CPI and earnings.
  • The site FAQ prohibits full portfolio exposure during major news events.
  • HFT and algorithms: the help centre prohibits high-frequency trading, latency arbitrage, rapid-fire "botting", price manipulation and exploiting the platform for unrealistic fills.
  • The site FAQ, by contrast, says HFT is "generally allowed" and allows scalping, hedging and algorithmic trading for funded traders.
  • Stocks must trade at $5.00 or more with average daily volume above 1,000,000 shares.
  • Option strikes need open interest of 500 or more, and breaking this earns an account strike.
  • Most breaches follow a three-strike system ending in a lifetime ban, but the firm can ban immediately at its sole discretion, for example for gross negligence regarding risk limits.
  • Account limits (help centre): up to 5 evaluations, 3 Sim-Funded accounts and 1 Live account per trader.
  • The homepage, the site FAQ and the About page mention up to 20 accounts, and the FAQ says copy trading between them is permitted.

Payouts and the path to live

Sim-Funded stage (Elite and Foundation)

Before any withdrawal, a buffer of 7% of the starting balance must be built; it stays in the account. After that, the account fails if it falls below 1% above the starting balance. Payouts can be requested every three valid trading days, subject to the 33% consistency rule. One help-centre article says you may withdraw up to 50% of profit above the threshold, with a total Sim-Funded cap of 7% of the account and a $500 minimum request. Another help-centre article says there is no minimum withdrawal amount. Another article gives the cap as 10% of account size. The help centre puts the split in this stage at 90% for Elite and Foundation; the homepage says 80%.

Moving to Live

A risk manager reviews the trader for Live status after three payouts or on reaching the Sim-Funded withdrawal cap. A trader judged unsuitable receives a final payout of 50% of profits, the account is closed and a new evaluation can start after 180 days. On moving to Live, all other evaluations and Sim-Funded accounts are forfeited. Live accounts drop the consistency rule, have no withdrawal cap and allow payouts on any profitable trading day (a gain of at least 0.5% of the starting balance), after the same 7% buffer. The Live split is set in an individual agreement. The homepage says traders can keep up to 100% of profits at the Live stage, but the help centre says there is no standard Live split.

How and when payouts are paid

Payouts go through RISE; its fees for transfers and currency conversion may apply. Approved payouts are batched and sent to RISE every Friday. The homepage states a 24-hour average payout time, and the site FAQ gives both "typically the day after" and "a minimum of three business days". The help centre says the firm takes the capital-gains tax amount off each payout. The evaluation fee is refunded with the first successful payout according to one article, and with the first payout from a Live account according to the refund policy. Instant fees are refunded only on moving to Live.

Platforms and markets

Tradable products are stocks listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ and equity and index options. The firm says it offers Level 4 options access, which allows multi-leg strategies. Futures can be added to Foundation, Elite and Instant accounts of every size. Listed futures include E-mini equity indices, 10-year and 30-year Treasuries, crude oil, gold, silver and copper, plus micro contracts. Level 1 CME data is included; Level 2 data costs a monthly pass-through fee whose amount is not given.

On platforms the pages disagree. The help centre says all trading must happen on the firm's own in-house platform. The site FAQ says it supports platforms connected through Rithmic, naming Quantower and Etna. The accounts page shows futures on the $1M Elite running through Rithmic. The FAQ says mobile trading is not supported.

Company and terms

The Terms of Service name the company as Imperial Funding LLC; the site footer says Imperial Trader Funding LLC. We did not find a registration number, registered address or founding date on the pages we read. The Terms are governed by California law, while the disclosures page names Texas law. The FAQ says the firm is open to traders worldwide, subject to regional restrictions, and the footer says it is not available in restricted jurisdictions; we did not find a list of those jurisdictions.

Refunds: the help centre allows a refund within 14 days for an evaluation that has not been accessed or traded, and none after the first trade or for failed evaluations. The Terms of Service say there are no refunds. The firm runs an affiliate programme paying 10% commission on evaluation sales made through a referral link.

Who it suits

Imperial Trader Funding is aimed at traders of US stocks and options, with futures as an extra. Traders who want a fixed floor can choose Foundation's static drawdown; Elite has no daily loss limit but an end-of-day drawdown. All evaluations run against a 45-trading-day limit. Because the FAQ page and the help centre disagree on several rules, read the help-centre article for your account type and confirm anything unclear with support before buying.

MyPropGenius Rating

MyPropGenius Rating: 2.2/5 — its Transparency Index score of 44/100 ÷ 20, rounded down

The rating measures how openly Imperial Trader Funding discloses its rules, pricing, payouts and ownership (our Transparency Index methodology). It does not measure how likely you are to pass or be paid.

Is Imperial Trader Funding legit?

The Terms name Imperial Funding LLC and the disclosures say traders are in 'a simulation funding environment'. The help centre has a refund policy allowing a refund within 14 days if the evaluation has not been used, but the Terms say there are no refunds and the site FAQ says all fees are non-refundable. We did not find dated payout records or certificates on the pages we read on 28 Oct 2026. The earliest Internet Archive (Wayback Machine) copy of the homepage is from 22 Jan 2025, about 1 year 9 months before our check; the firm's pages do not state a founding year.

Its Transparency Index score is 44/100 (Mixed). This review describes what the firm publishes; we do not verify payouts or test accounts.

Our verdict

Imperial Trader Funding offers one-step, two-step and instant accounts for US stocks and options, with futures as an option, at one-time prices from $175 on its accounts page (its help centre lists higher Foundation prices). Its accounts page and help centre set out detailed rules, but its FAQ page is out of step with them on several points, and Sim-Funded payouts are capped before a move to a Live account whose split is agreed individually. Check the current help-centre rules for your account type before buying.
