Overview

Lark Funding sells simulated trading accounts in four formats: Instant, 1-Step, 1-Step Max and 3-Step. Its help centre says trading at every stage is on a demo account and that "no live funds are ever, at any point, provided to the client". Trading is in CFDs on forex, indices, crypto, commodities and over 100 stocks, on DXTrade, cTrader and Match-Trader.

The home page advertises bi-weekly payouts, zero consistency rules, static drawdowns and no minimum trading days. The rules that matter most in practice are a $10,000 daily and per-trade gain limit, a 1% per-symbol loss limit on 1-Step Max, and a forced close at 3:45 PM EST on Fridays unless you buy a weekend add-on. Some help articles appear on two help-centre sites with different wording; we note the differences below.

Everything in this review comes from Lark Funding's own web pages, saved on 11 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the firm's site before you buy.

Programmes and prices

Each evaluation is a one-time fee. The firm's October offer page states standard one-time fees for the $100,000 size of the three evaluations: $800 for 1-Step, $599 for 1-Step Max and $370 for 3-Step. We did not find a page that labels the fees for other account sizes, or for Instant accounts, as standard prices, so we do not list them. Check the checkout for current prices.

There are no time limits and no minimum trading days on any of the programmes. After passing, you complete KYC and sign a Trader Agreement; the help centre says the Master Account is typically activated within 24–48 hours. The 1-Step Max article gives 48 business hours instead.

The help centre also has withdrawal rules for a $1,000 Instant Account, a size that is not in the home page's Instant size list. The Instant card on the home page says first payouts are on demand and subsequent payouts are monthly.

Conflicting summaries of the 1-Step

The Trading Rules index page lists "1-Step Evaluation Details" with a 12% static drawdown, 12% target and 1% risk per trade. Those figures match the 1-Step Max, not the 1-Step shown on the home page. For the 1-Step we used the home page card and the drawdown article, which both give a 7% drawdown.

Trading rules by programme

1-Step

The 7% limit is static: it stays fixed to the initial balance and does not move up as the account grows. The same 7% static drawdown applies to the Funded (Master) Account, and a separate 5% daily loss limit applies.

1-Step Max

  • Maximum loss: 12% of the initial account balance.
  • Daily loss: 5% of the balance as calculated at 5:00 pm EST; hitting it is a hard breach.
  • Per-symbol loss: total open risk on one symbol may not exceed 1% of the balance, counted across all positions on that symbol. A position that exceeds it is closed automatically and recorded as a Soft Breach.
  • In the evaluation, two Soft Breaches are allowed and a third is a hard breach.
  • On funded accounts, exceeding the per-symbol limit is a hard breach on the first occurrence.
  • The 12% target counts as passed once floating equity reaches it.

A separate help article says Simulated Funded Account rules are exactly the same as the assessment, without a gain target. For 1-Step Max we followed the more specific 1-Step Max article, which treats per-symbol breaches more strictly once funded.

3-Step

The home page card shows targets of 5%, 4% and 3% across the three phases, a 5% maximum drawdown, no daily loss limit, no minimum trading days and an unlimited trading period. The help centre lists a "3-Step Evaluation Details" article, but we did not have a saved copy, so we cannot say whether the 5% drawdown is static or how it is measured.

Instant

Instant accounts have a 5% daily loss limit based on the previous day's closed balance at 5 PM EST, resetting daily at 5:00 pm EST. The 8% trailing drawdown is described differently on the two help-centre sites. The larkfunding.com article says it is 8% of the highest recorded closed balance and trails equity until the 8% gain threshold is met, while the helpdesk.larkfunding.com version subtracts 8% of the initial balance from the highest closed balance and says the highest equity reached does not affect the level. Both use the same $105,000 / $97,000 example. We cannot tell which is current; ask the firm before buying. Both versions say the drawdown locks at the initial balance once the account reaches an 8% gain or the first payout is requested, and that it does not reset after a payout.

After the lock, withdrawing all gains breaches the account; withdrawing part of the gains lets you keep trading with the rest as a buffer.

All programmes

  • Margin call at 110% (no new trades) and stop out at 100% on challenge and funded accounts.
  • No lot size restrictions; the firm reserves the right to limit open positions on funded accounts.
  • Scalping is allowed on all evaluations and funded accounts.
  • News trading is allowed, subject to the all-or-nothing rule.
  • Holding overnight is allowed; swap charges may apply unless you choose a swap-free account.
  • Holding over the weekend needs the Hold Over The Weekend add-on, priced at 10% of the account fee. Without it, trading is disabled at 3:45 PM EST on Fridays and open trades are closed.
  • Add-ons must be bought before passing the challenge.
  • Breaching the daily or maximum drawdown restricts the account and you must buy a new one to try again.

The home page says there are "zero consistency rules". The Base Reward (below) does have its own conditions, which one FAQ calls "consistency requirements"; these apply to the Base Reward, not to passing or to performance payouts.

Restrictions and prohibited strategies

Lark Funding prohibits all-or-nothing trading, meaning trading in a way that could breach or nearly breach the drawdown limits in a single trade, including during high-impact news. To enforce it, there is a $10,000 daily and/or per-trade gain limit, calculated at 5:00 PM EST. Trades at similar times or closed in parts count as one trade; another article defines this as similar trades in the same direction on the same instrument within 1–2 minutes.

  • On a challenge account, one violation means a restart from Phase 1 with a free Evaluation and no refund.
  • On a funded account, trades above the $10,000 limit are excluded, and three violations mean a breach with no payout.
  • The page says these checks are currently done manually.

As guidance, the firm recommends margin use of no more than 50% on forex and metals and 75% on indices, oils, crypto and stocks, and risk of up to 1.5% per trade idea.

Other prohibited practices on the Prohibited Trading Strategies page and in the Terms of Use:

  • High-frequency trading.
  • Hedging across accounts or with other prop firms (hedging within a single account is permitted).
  • Group trading, signal services and account-passing services; copy trading only where you own and control all the accounts.
  • Holding single-share equity CFDs through earnings, dividends or other corporate actions; such positions must be closed by 3:50 pm Eastern Time on the day of the event (or the previous trading day for pre-market events).
  • Exploiting pricing errors or latency, front-running, using off-the-shelf strategies marketed to pass challenges, and using one strategy to pass and a different one when funded.
  • Entering equity CFDs near the close to profit from the overnight gap.
  • HFT EAs, Gold Arbitrage EAs and any EA that uses a prohibited strategy.

A breach of the Terms or a prohibited strategy leads to a breached account and a permanent ban from future assessments.

Expert Advisors, copying and multiple accounts

The EA article says EAs are not prohibited, though there is no public API and connections are at your own risk; HFT and arbitrage EAs are banned. The VPN article, however, lists "using any type of automated trading system" alongside multiple users as something that would violate the terms. The pages conflict; confirm with support before running an EA.

You can copy trades from external accounts into one Lark evaluation, but not into several evaluations; once funded or on Instant, copying across multiple accounts is allowed. The help centre says you can take several evaluations at once if each uses different trades. The Terms of Use say traders are limited to one active account per challenge level without prior written approval. Funded allocation is capped at $200,000 for evaluation accounts and $100,000 for instant accounts; extra passed accounts wait until allocation frees up.

The help centre says Master Account holders earn 80% to 90% of gains depending on account type. A Weekly Payouts add-on can be bought at checkout; we did not see its price.

The minimum withdrawal is $100, there is a flat $40 processing fee, and all withdrawals go through Riseworks. The firm says most payouts are handled in under 6 hours but asks you to allow up to 3 business days. On a $1,000 Instant Account the total you can withdraw is capped at $100 after the split, there is no $40 fee, and the minimum payout is $50.

An older copy of the payout article on helpdesk.larkfunding.com also lists a 2-Step programme; the larkfunding.com version, updated 26 September 2026, does not, and we followed it.

Lark Base

Lark Base is a monthly reward on top of performance payouts: the home page describes a 0.5% monthly base plus performance bonuses. To qualify you must pass the evaluation, stay within a -3.5% max drawdown and log at least three profitable trading days of 0.5% gain each. The home page example uses a 1-Step $10K account with a $50 monthly base. The pages we saw do not say which other programmes include Lark Base.

Free restarts

1-Step and 3-Step accounts can be surrendered for a retry if drawdown stays under 5% and no trade loses more than 1%: 1-Step gets a 100% discount (free reset) and 3-Step a 75% discount. On 1-Step Max the per-trade test is replaced by the 1% per-symbol limit, and overall drawdown must still stay better than −5%; the feature is capped at three restarts per purchase, four attempts in total. Using the surrender feature removes eligibility for any promotion applied to the original purchase.

Refunds

The help centre says the challenge fee is not refundable, and the Terms of Use say there are no refunds on any Services. The Terms also say that if the firm deems a trading style too risky, "it will result in a retake or a refund". Separately, an October 2026 offer returns the evaluation fee with the first eligible payout on 1-Step, 1-Step Max and 3-Step accounts bought by 31 October 2026; Instant accounts are excluded and it is not a refund for a failed evaluation.

Platforms, markets and costs

Lark Funding offers DXTrade, cTrader and Match-Trader, and says it focuses exclusively on CFDs; futures and spot stocks are not supported. Markets listed are stocks, forex, indices, crypto, metals and commodities, with over 100 US stocks at 1:5 leverage.

The 1-Step and 3-Step cards show only a headline leverage (30:1 and 50:1); we did not see per-asset leverage or commission tables for them. The firm says pricing and execution come from the broker and that it does not mark up spreads, commissions or swaps.

Company and terms

The Terms of Use say the services are operated by Lark Dashboards Inc., a Canadian corporation registered in the Province of Quebec, under licence from Lark Funding Inc. The contact address given is 3 Place Ville-Marie, Suite 400, Montréal. The help centre says card charges appear as "LF Dashboards Inc."

On regulation, the site footer says Lark Funding Inc. "does not carry out any regulated activities" and is "not required to be authorized by regulatory authorities". The footer also says the accounts are exclusively simulated demo accounts. A help article says trading data is sent to a partnered proprietary trading firm that copies trades at its own discretion. Funded traders are treated as independent contractors and are responsible for their own taxes.

Lark Funding says it is not available in Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, the Russian Federation, Belarus or Quebec, and that Riseworks must be available where you live. You must be at least 18.

Marketing figures on the home page, which we have not checked, claim 4+ years paying, $1M+ paid in rewards, 60+ countries served and 10,000+ traders. The Terms of Use state that, on internal 2026 year-to-date records for 1-Step evaluation accounts, the pass rate was 14.76% and 10.95% of accounts reached at least one completed withdrawal.

Who it suits

Lark Funding may suit CFD traders who want no time limits or minimum trading days, a static drawdown on the 1-Step and 1-Step Max, and freedom to trade news and scalp. The $10,000 gain limit and the 1.5% risk guideline favour small positions. It is less suited to weekend swing traders, to EA users until the EA wording is clarified, and to anyone where Riseworks is unavailable.

MyPropGenius Rating

MyPropGenius Rating: 2.5/5 — its Transparency Index score of 50/100 ÷ 20, rounded down (provisional: scored from limited public information; not yet verified)

The rating measures how openly Lark Funding discloses its rules, pricing, payouts and ownership (our Transparency Index methodology). It does not measure how likely you are to pass or be paid.

Is Lark Funding legit?

The footer says the accounts are exclusively simulated and the firm carries out no regulated activities. The footer names two companies (Lark Dashboards Inc., which operates the site, and Lark Funding Inc.) but no founders, owners or team members, and we could not read any About content. A 'Refund Policy' page is linked in the footer, but its text did not display when we checked. The homepage claims rewards paid and '+1,400 DAYS PAYING TRADERS', and has a 'Recent payout certificates' section, but the certificates are images we could not read and we could not read the Results page.

Its Transparency Index score is 50/100 (Mixed); the score is provisional, based on limited public information. We do not verify payouts or test accounts; this is what the firm’s own pages show.

Our verdict

Lark Funding offers four simulated CFD programmes with no time limits, no minimum trading days and a static drawdown on its 1-Step and 1-Step Max evaluations. The trade-offs are a $10,000 daily and per-trade gain limit, a paid add-on for weekend holding, and help articles that disagree on the Instant drawdown and on EAs, so read the specific programme article before buying.
