Maverick Trading describes itself as "a proprietary trading firm focused on disciplined trading, risk management, and trader development." Its home page headline is "Trade Our Capital. Keep 65-90%", and it calls itself an "Option Prop Firm". Its Become a Maverick page says "Maverick Trading isn't a challenge firm". Its pages describe a qualification route to firm capital. The FAQ sets out three requirements: complete the Maverick Qualification Program, pass the Maverick verification program (a series of tests), and show a proven track record on a Maverick Trading demo account.
Traders who complete these steps join as independent contractors, not employees, and trade on behalf of one of the firm's trading LLCs in a sub-account. The FAQ says each trader pays a $199 desk fee and must post a trading bond before live trading. The amount of the bond is not on the pages we saved; the FAQ says "Full details on these costs will be in the application videos."
Everything in this review comes from Maverick Trading's own web pages, saved on 11 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the firm's site before you buy.

Maverick Trading uses a training-first model. The FAQ says: "Without exception, all Maverick traders are required to complete Maverick's qualification program."
The FAQ does not set a pass mark, profit target or time limit for the demo stage in the text we saved.
The application page describes a 5-step process: watch a 9-minute introductory video, read the FAQs, submit a formal application, watch a full-length Maverick video, and schedule an interview with a recruiter. The same page also shows a graphic with a different list of five steps: interview, training, quizzes, trade plan and demo trading. The Become a Maverick page gives a third version: intro video, application, full-length video, interview and orientation. It says selected applicants get limited "Temporary Access" to training videos, tests, live sessions and view-only Discord channels. The application asks about your background, trading experience and the maximum amount of capital you have traded, and the page says Maverick "is open to all skill levels".
The home page summarises the path as four steps: apply to join, complete the program, prove trading success, then trade the firm's capital.
The FAQ says traders are paid on performance only, with no salary. Earnings are reported on a 1099-misc at the end of each year, and the FAQ says taxes on payouts are each member's own responsibility. The FAQ says remote trading and part-time trading are both possible.
Maverick Trading has one route to firm capital, which its menu calls the Capital Sharing Program and its pages also call Firm Capital Access. The table below lists every cost the saved pages mention. The $199 figure is the list price as the FAQ states it.
| Cost | What the pages say |
|---|---|
| Desk fee | $199 (list price). The FAQ does not say whether it is one-time or recurring. |
| Trading bond | Required before live trading. Amount not stated on the pages we saved. |
| Desk fee credit | "A portion or all" of the desk fees is credited towards additional Maverick services or the required performance bond. |
| Commissions | The FAQ says Maverick does not add a mark-up to trading commissions. |
The FAQ says the firm profits only from the profits its traders generate. The Firm Capital Access page also shows "Spread Fees NONE" and "Commission Markup NONE" in a graphic. The pages use three terms for the upfront deposit: "trading bond", "performance bond" and "risk deposit". They do not say whether these are the same thing.
The home page also promotes the firm's book, which it says contains about the first third of Maverick's training program; it is sold on Amazon.
The firm says that once traders pass a few tests, they gain access to firm capital "from $25,000 initially to millions". The Firm Capital Access page shows six levels:
| Level | Firm capital |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | $25K |
| Level 2 | $50K |
| Level 3 | $100K |
| Level 4 | $150K |
| Level 5 | Negotiated |
| Level 6 | Negotiated |
In the visible page text the figure 80 appears beside each level without a label, so we do not read it as a per-level split. A graphic on the same page also shows $25K to $1M+ and "Capital Access $1,000,000+"; the page does not say how it relates to the level table. The FAQ page has another graphic reading "TYPICAL CAP" $25K, $50K, $100K, $250K, $500K, then "NO CAP".
The Firm Capital Access page says: "Traders keep 65-90% of the profits they generate." The home page shows "90% MAX SPLIT". The firm's worked example uses an 80% split: $5,000 of profit gives the trader $4,000. The FAQ refers to "Trader Advancement Tables" for payout rates. We did not have those tables, so we cannot say which split applies at which level or how a trader moves from 65% to 90%. The home page says traders "Earn additional trading capital and higher profit splits by producing consistent profits."
Increases in firm capital are granted based on performance, profits retained in the account and the size of the risk deposit, and are approved by management. The FAQ adds that "Level advancement will be made by additional education requirements and management approval." The firm says it looks for "consistency married with low draw-downs and/or small account swings". The FAQ also says "There is no cap on the levels that can be achieved".
The FAQ sets out a monthly cycle tied to options expiration. Profits are calculated for each option period and credited on the Saturday after options expiration, which falls between the 15th and 22nd of the month. Disbursements are made on the 1st of the month following the trading period. The FAQ's example: $5,000 of profit in the March options period on an 80% split gives a $4,000 disbursement on 1 April.
Traders are paid monthly by ACH into their bank accounts. A trader can keep earnings in the trading account and apply for more capital. The FAQ also mentions "performance bonus payouts once a trader hits certain profit metrics"; the metrics are not given on the pages we saved. All payouts are reported on a 1099-MISC.
Once funded, the FAQ says a trader's main responsibility is "to trade the firm's capital within Maverick's risk guidelines for maximum profit." The risk guidelines themselves are not published on the pages we saved.
The pages we saved do not state rules on news trading, holding overnight or over weekends, automated trading (EAs or bots) or hedging. They also do not list restricted countries. Treat these as unknown until you have read the full terms or the application videos.
The FAQ says the firm "partners with brokers like Interactive Brokers to execute trades." It says funded traders get "access to professional data feeds, professional commission rates and professional trading software", without naming the software.
The other pages also focus on options: the firm calls itself an "Option Prop Firm", and the verification tests cover "the stock and options market". Its Become a Maverick page lists stocks, options and futures under "What we trade", and also says the firm works in "Forex, metals, crypto, and some futures contracts". It says options "are at the core of what we do" and that the training program "is built around options mastery". The same page says futures "offer access to indices, commodities, and more". It does not give a list of specific symbols or contracts. The free education section has software videos on TradingView, Thinkorswim and TraderWorkStation, but the page presents these as education topics, not as the firm's trading platforms.
The qualification stage uses a demo account. After that, the FAQ says Maverick traders "manage and trade its own brokerage account", and the home page shows "Real CAPITAL".
The FAQ says Maverick Trading is not a brokerage firm, but "a private equity trading firm". Traders are "brought in as members and given trading authority to trade the firm's account for the benefit of the firm." The FAQ refers to "our trading LLCs" but the pages we saved do not name them.
The learn-more page shows "EST. 1997", and the application page refers to "Maverick's rich history since 1997". The home page shows "20+ YEARS ACTIVE". The site footer gives a postal address of P.O. Box 900802, Salt Lake City, UT 84090, with support at support@mavericktrading.com, Monday to Friday, 6AM to 5PM MST.
None of the pages we saved state that Maverick Trading or its LLCs are regulated or licensed. The footer links to a Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and an Insider Trading Policy, which we did not have. The FAQ mentions optional live online trading sessions, a Discord server and yearly Trading Summits in Las Vegas.
Based on its own pages, Maverick Trading suits someone who wants structured training and coaching before trading firm capital, is interested in options, and is prepared to go through an application, an interview, tests and a monitored demo period. It suits traders who accept independent-contractor status and an upfront desk fee and bond.
It does not suit someone who wants to buy an account and start trading straight away, or who needs every cost and rule in writing before applying: the bond amount and the risk guidelines are not on the pages we saved.

Maverick Trading runs a training-and-capital-sharing model: a qualification programme, tests and a monitored demo period come first, then firm capital from $25,000 with a stated 65–90% split paid monthly. The FAQ is clear on payout timing but leaves out the bond amount, the split per level and the risk rules, which it says are covered in the application videos and advancement tables. Get those figures in writing before paying the desk fee.
Tell our finder how you trade and it will check every firm we track against your requirements.
Find My MatchThe FAQ lists a $199 desk fee (list price) and a trading bond that must be posted before live trading. The bond amount is not on the pages we saved; the FAQ says full details are in the application videos.
