Overview

Gold Funding is a prop trading firm that markets itself around gold. Its homepage says: "Trade our capital on XAUUSD with rules designed for how gold actually moves." It sells two evaluation models, Rapid (1-Step) and Classic (2-Step), for a one-time fee. Trading is simulated: the Terms say "All activity during the evaluation and verification phases is carried out with virtual balances" and that a passing trader may be given "a simulated funded account".

The Terms set a fixed 12% maximum overall loss that does not trail, and a 5% daily loss limit. The homepage advertises a profit split of up to 90% and payouts every two weeks. The Terms name the operator as ALFMNY Media Limited, a Hong Kong-incorporated company.

Many answers in the firm's FAQ were collapsed and not in our copy, so this review says less about scalping, news, weekend holding, leverage and the payout process. The firm's pages also differ on account sizes and starting prices; we set this out below. This review uses only Gold Funding's own website.

Everything in this review comes from Gold Funding's own web pages, saved on 10 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the firm's site before you buy.

Programmes and Prices

Gold Funding offers two evaluation models. The homepage says: "Two evaluation models. Pick your account size." The Terms describe them: on the two-step track a trader "must earn ten per cent of the initial virtual balance in Phase One and then a further five per cent of that balance in Phase Two"; on the one-step track "a single target of ten per cent of the initial balance must be achieved."

The fee is one-time: the homepage says "One-time fee." and "You only pay the one-time challenge fee." The checkout page offers payment by card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT).

Rapid (1-Step) list prices

The homepage plan cards and the checkout page showed these Rapid prices. A time-limited discount code was being promoted during our visit; the prices below are the list prices before any code.

Account sizePriceProfit targetMax drawdownDaily drawdownProfit split
$50,000$489 one-time10%12%5%Up to 90%
$100,000$789 one-time10%12%5%Up to 90%
$200,000$1,449 one-time10%12%5%Up to 90%

All three cards list a "Scaling Plan", "Bi-weekly Payouts", a "Reset Discount" and a "40% Best Day Rule". The $100,000 and $200,000 cards add "Priority Support", and the $200,000 card also lists "1-on-1 Coaching".

The checkout page also listed a $325,000 size at $2289, while the homepage says "Choose $50K–$200K." We did not capture the Classic (2-Step) prices. The homepage also says "A $100K Gold Account starts at $289." and "Starting at just $135"; we could not match these figures to the Rapid list prices above and do not know which account or offer they refer to.

Add-ons

The checkout lists optional add-ons: "No minimum days", "News trading" ("Ignores news trading violations."), "Double leverage" ("Doubles the account leverage."), "Double time limit" ("Doubles the time limit.") and "Automated trading" ("Ignores auto trading violations"). Their prices rise with account size. Our copy of the checkout had a promotional code applied by default, so we do not list add-on prices.

Trading Rules

These rules come from the Terms and the FAQ, which do not tie them to one model unless stated.

  • Maximum loss: equity may not fall below 88% of the initial balance, "a fixed maximum overall loss of twelve per cent (12%)" that "does not increase, trail or otherwise adjust". For this limit, equity includes open floating profit and loss, swaps, commission and fees.
  • Daily loss: the loss on any day "may not exceed five per cent (5%) of the end-of-day Account balance recorded at midnight CET/CEST", and the daily limit "is calculated from the end-of-day balance only, not equity".
  • Both limits "are assessed continuously". A breach of either causes automatic liquidation of open positions, termination of the evaluation and forfeiture of the fee.
  • Trading days: the FAQ says "You must trade a minimum of 7 active days per evaluation phase, and there is a 30-day time limit to reach the profit target." The 'Double Max Days' add-on extends the limit to 60 days, and the 'No Minimum Days' add-on removes the 7-day minimum.
  • Best day rule: "no single trading day (00:00–23:59 server time) may account for more than 40% of a Participant's total closed profit at the time of payout or evaluation review." The Terms say traders may keep trading to bring results back into balance, and that the firm may request more trading history, delay a payout or terminate the account.

The Terms also say "all open positions are closed automatically" when the target is met, a risk limit is breached or the time expires.

Restrictions and Prohibited Strategies

The Terms forbid methods that exploit latency, quote manipulation or other technical anomalies. They also forbid "any strategy that mirrors or copies signals from external providers or from multiple internal accounts" and "martingale, grid or other geometrically expanding exposure patterns". Techniques that rely on guarantees unavailable in live markets, "such as guaranteed stop execution or weekend-gap fills", are forbidden, as is sizing, frequency or timing that the risk department deems inconsistent with sustainable live execution. Penalties include invalidating trades, recording the evaluation as failed, suspending or closing accounts, or reducing leverage "without prior notice".

The Terms add: "Excessive position sizing, unusual order frequency, or significant deviations from established trading patterns may be classified as gambling behavior and result in account termination."

EAs: the FAQ says "EAs and algorithmic trading are permitted with the 'Allow Automated Trading' add-on at checkout."

News: the checkout sells a "News trading" add-on described as "Ignores news trading violations." The FAQ answer on how news trading is defined was not in our copy, so we cannot say what the news rule is.

We could not see the FAQ answers on scalping, minimum hold time, high-frequency trading, hedging, weekend holding or lot-size limits.

Payouts and Scaling

The homepage says traders can "Withdraw up to 90% of your profits every 2 weeks." It says payouts take an "Average processing time: under 48 hours."; this is the firm's own figure.

The homepage advertises "Scale to $2M" and says: "Consistently profitable? We'll double your account up to $2 million." Our copy did not include the FAQ answers on the scaling steps, minimum and maximum withdrawal, payout methods or when the first payout clock starts.

The 40% best day rule also applies at payout (see Trading Rules). The homepage says the firm has paid "$600K+" to traders and has "1,500+ Funded Traders"; these are the firm's own figures.

Platforms and Markets

The FAQ lists tradable instruments as "FX majors & minors, gold, silver, commodities, indices, select US-equity CFDs, crypto." The homepage says "All instruments available as well as gold".

The FAQ tells traders to log in at https://prop.goldfunding.io with the trading credentials shown on their dashboard, which differ from the dashboard login. Its question headings refer to MatchTrader, for example "Is the platform / MatchTrader available in the US?" The answers to "Supported platforms?" and the leverage questions were not in our copy.

Refunds

The homepage advertises a "14-day refund on unused accounts". The Refund & Cancellation Policy (effective 15 May 2025) says you may withdraw "for any reason within fourteen (14) calendar days of the payment date", but only until trading begins. It says: "If the account history shows even a single executed order, the refund window is deemed to have closed and the fee becomes non-refundable."

Requests go by email to support@goldfunding.io before the fourteenth day, with your full legal name, evaluation-account number and date of purchase. The policy says the refund is initiated "within two Hong Kong business days" and equals "the amount actually paid after any promotional discounts", with no handling fee deducted.

The Terms word this differently: "Where consumer law provides a statutory right of withdrawal, you may cancel within fourteen days of payment provided that no trade has yet been executed". We describe the Refund Policy, which is the more specific page.

Company and Terms

The Terms (last updated 20 May 2025) say "Gold Funding™ is the trading name of ALFMNY Media Limited, a Hong Kong-incorporated company (registration number 77428631)", with its registered office at Office 3906, 39th Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong. The Terms are governed by Hong Kong law, and identity is verified through the Sumsub onboarding service.

The Terms describe the programme as "a proprietary-trading evaluation scheme in a simulated trading environment". The homepage shows a badge reading "SSL Secured & Regulated". The pages we captured do not name a regulator or licence, and the FAQ answer to "Are you regulated?" was not in our copy.

US residents: the FAQ says "we do not accept US traders due to us being compliant with regulations." The checkout country list still includes United States. We did not find a full list of restricted countries.

Who It Suits

Gold Funding may suit traders who mainly trade gold and want a one-time-fee evaluation with a fixed, non-trailing 12% maximum loss. Traders who use EAs need the paid automated trading add-on, and those who trade around news should check the news rule first, as its definition was not in our copy. The 40% best day rule matters most for traders who make most of their profit on a few days, and the 7-day minimum and 30-day limit set the pace of the evaluation.
